Mrs. Hejduk is an avid reader who grew up in New Hampshire. She is a huge Boston sports fan. On her visits home, she always tries to snag tickets to a Red Sox baseball game, a Bruins hockey game or a New England Patriots football game. Mrs. Hejduk received her Bachelor's Degree in Communication and English Journalism from the University of New Hampshire. After college, she worked as a journalist for The Salem Evening News newspaper in Massachusetts. Her “beat” at the newspaper was education, which eventually led Mrs. Hejduk to return to college and earn her Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Rivier College. She taught 6th grade English in New Hampshire for three years before moving to Nevada.  Since moving to Nevada 16 years ago, Mrs. Hejduk has continued her education at UNLV and Southern Utah University. She has taught both 7th grade English and 7th grade Reading. Mrs. Hejduk believes reading and writing are vital skills necessary for a successful future, and her goal is to have all students grow as independent readers, writers and thinkers. In her free time, Mrs. Hejduk enjoys spending time with her two young boys (6 and 4). She also enjoys running, hiking and relaxing by the pool.
