DWMS Cell Phone Policy

In accordance with CCSD Policy 5136, cell phones and other personal technology devices must be off and stored once students arrive on campus. Cell phone use in the quad, hallways, classrooms, locker rooms, restrooms, offices, and other common areas is not permitted. Cell phones may be accessed during lunch but must be off and stored before students are dismissed from the cafeteria. Cell phones should remain off and stored until students leave campus at the end of the school day.

If a student is seen using their phone outside of the approved times (including text messaging), or if the cell phone rings during class, the cell phone will be confiscated and kept in the Student Success Office for parent pick-up. Cell phones will not be returned directly to the students.

Students are not allowed to use the camera or video function on their cell phones at any time while on campus. Students found in violation are subject to disciplinary action, including a required parent conference and suspension.
