Mr. Mattern was raised in Henderson, Nevada, and graduated from Silverado High School.  After earning a Bachelor's Degree in English and a Master's in Education at Simpson University in Redding, Mr. Mattern spent two years teaching English and Leadership at California City High School in California City, CA.  Mr. Mattern has been teaching at Del Webb since 2015, and is very excited to help his English students be better writers and thinkers.
