CCSD Bus Transportation Information 2023-2024

The CCSD Transportation Department assigns bus stop locations, the number of bus stops per bus, and the times for student pick-up and  drop off.  If you have questions concerning your student’s bus stop information, please contact the CCSD transportation department at (702) 799-8110.

BUS PROCEDURES AT DWMS

Buses will arrive, unload, pick-up, and depart in the back parking lot of the school.  With over 20 busses bringing over 1200 students to the back parking lot of the school, DWMS has developed a process of getting students on their correct bus in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Each bus is given a Route Number by the transportation department (example: W422).  Del Webb assigns a parking lane number (Example: Lane4/green) to each bus to help students easily identify which bus to board when they exit the building at dismissal.

  • If a student does not ride the bus to school on the first day, but plans to ride the bus home, he/she can check with a staff member at lunch time in the cafeteria to find out which bus to board.

There are Del Webb staff members in the back of the school to assist students who are having difficulties.

Late Buses

The Transportation department allows DWMS to have two late buses to provide students who have transportation privileges, a way home from school activities/club/ academic assistance.  The late buses will NOT stop at each bus stop.  Each bus gets one stop that will drop students off, and then the students will walk home from that stop.  The transportation department selects the late bus stops; not DWMS.  The late busses run Monday through Thursday and the late busses leave the school at approximately 4:08 pm. There are no late buses on Fridays.  If students abuse the late bus services or get a bus citation from the driver, students will be suspended from late bus usage.

Riding the Bus with a Friend Not Permitted

Bus riding with a friend, with or without a note, will not be permitted.  Students can only ride the bus they are assigned to and must depart the bus at their assigned stop.

Transportation Behavior Guidelines

Students who are eligible to have transportation provided must abide by the CCSD Rules of Conduct for School Bus Riders.  Misconduct by a student may result in a bus suspension or the loss of bus riding privileges for the school year.  Parents and students need to remember that it is a “privilege” to ride the bus.  Inappropriate behavior on the bus which jeopardizes any student’s safety and well-being will not be tolerated.  CCSD regulation 3533 states in part that “the bus is an extension of the classroom.”
