Ms. Owen grew up on a small farm in Hawaii with her mother and father. Sometime in the mid-2000s the family moved to Las Vegas where both her parents taught in CCSD. She attended Advanced Technologies Academy High School (A-TECH) and went on to get her Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education at UNLV. She returned to UNLV for her first Master's in Secondary Social Studies... but wait there's more! Understanding the necessity of technology in education she earned her second Master's Degree in Educational Technology. Ms. Owen has worked in CCSD for over 10 years! Teaching world cultures and current events is her passion. She loves to travel and has been to 26 different countries around the world! In her down time she loves to cook and bake, hike, watch Disney+, knit, and anything dinosaur related. One day she hopes to return to her roots and own farm land in Hawaii.
